Located in one of Tokyo's most scenic valleys with views from every room, Fushi (Representative: TAKAMIZU Kenji / Location: Tokyo, Akiruno-shi, Konakano 177-1), which literally means "the figure of wind," takes its name from Fushikaden (The Flowering Spirit), a treatise on Noh theater written by Zeami in the early 15th century.
The building, constructed with authentic materials, offers stunning views of mountains, clear streams, and boulders that resemble paintings on a folding screen. Gazing at this scenery while savoring locally sourced ingredients, guests will feel as if they could actually see—as the name Fushi implies—the figure of wind.

Takamizu Kenji, the president of Kurochaya CO. LTD. (hereinafter referred to as Kurochaya) and founder of Fushi, says, "We aim to ensure that Fushi's building and concept, as a place that immerses guests in the nature, climate, and culture of this region, will be recognized as a top-class accommodation for generations to come, and that its presence will contribute to the local community." Fushi aims to provide unparalleled moments of tranquility, allowing guests to deeply relax and enjoy the scenery amidst clear streams and clean air, incredibly located just an hour's drive from central Tokyo.
Designed by world-renowned architect Tezuka Takaharu, the building is simple, beautiful, and relaxing. Shaped to allow wind to flow through it, it blends in seamlessly with the natural beauty of the valley. The most distinctive feature of the building is the outdoor living room, where the absence of windows creates the feeling of being in the middle of nature. In the center of the room is a warm spa bath that is always kept full.
While running two restaurants serving kaiseki-ryori, traditional Japanese multi-course meals, for over half a century (56 years), the founder of Fushi has made it his life's work to express the beauty of Japan's distinct seasons, including Japan's five seasonal festivals, through the daily practice of ikebana flower arranging and the tea ceremony. Inspired by how Fushikaden deeply explores the beauty of Japan, we have planned the cuisine and accommodations so that people from around the world can enjoy the beauty and culture of Japan in a way that is unique to this destination.
Every object and piece of furniture in the space is one of a kind. We pursued an age-old aesthetic that people will still find beautiful a century from now. For this reason, we insisted on using building materials and furniture that were authentic to the core. All furniture and accommodations have been carefully selected for qualities such as beautiful design and form or relaxing warmth, and are coordinated with antique furniture from around the world.
Guests can enjoy dinner and breakfast prepared exclusively by the Group's executive chef. The food is prepared live in front of the guests in a special space set up for just one group. Dishes feature carefully selected local ingredients that are used in creative ways. The food not only tastes good, but also tells a story and delights guests with what the area has to offer. We strive to create unique flavors that even the best high-end restaurants in the city cannot match.
As the villa only accepts one group at a time, we do our best to accommodate each guest's needs and requests from the time of booking, and ensure that everything is ready for their arrival. Check-out is at 3:00 p.m. to allow guests to enjoy their time here to the fullest.
